The mother of a missing man says that the discovery of clothes, a watch and other personal items gives her hope that investigators can still find her son.
Alfred Wright, 28, disappeared on Nov. 7, News 12 reports. He was last seen at a package store in Hemphill, Texas.
Wright’s wife reportedly told his parents to pick him up from the store on the day he went missing, but when they arrived he wasn’t there. A witness told the parents that she saw Wright walking toward a nearby subdivision. The former football star at Mary Hardin-Baylor has a degree in physical therapy, but it was unclear whether he was going to see a client.
His mother, Rosalind Wright, confirmed reports that police recovered some of the missing man’s clothing, a watch and some of his medical equipment in the woods. A search with cadaver dogs was unsuccessful and foul play isn’t suspected at this time, KTRE reports.
There are, however, “red flags” that police did not elaborate on. Sabine County Sheriff’s Office representatives told HuffPost Crime that deputies as well as family and friends of Wright are still searching for him. He’s married and has three sons, ages 8, 4 and 2, Fox 4 reports.
Officials say he’s likely still on foot with little, if any, clothing. Wright is described as a black male, 5-feet-9-inches tall, and about 170 pounds. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call the Sabine County Sheriff’s Office at (409) 787-2266.
